Amy was born in Greenwood, South Carolina on April 19, 1981, and grew up in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Honors Program at the College of Charleston in 2003 with a major in Political Science. She then attended the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia after being awarded a merit-based full tuition Mercer Lawyer Scholarship. While at Mercer Law, Amy was a member of Phi Alpha Delta and President of the Mercer Technology and Intellectual Property Law Society. She was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 2006 and the United States District Court, District of South Carolina in 2008. She is a member of the Charleston County Bar, South Carolina Bar and American Bar Association. Her areas of practice include products liability law and toxic tort litigation.
