Christie was born in Vero Beach, Florida on December 10, 1984. She graduated from Florida State University in 2006, and received her Juris Doctor in Common Law and her Certificate in Civil Law from Loyola University New Orleans School of Law in 2009. While in law school, Christie was an active member of the Trial Advocacy Program, the Association for Women Law Students, and the Family Law Clinic, and spent one summer studying at the University of Vienna, Austria, School of Law.
