David was born in Charleston, South Carolina on April 27, 1972. He graduated from the College of Charleston in 1995 and the University of South Carolina Law School in 1998. He has practiced law at PHSM since June of 2000 and was made an equity partner in June of 2006.

David spends half of his time litigating on behalf of severely injured individuals in catastrophic and complex personal injury, wrongful death and product liability actions.  The rest of his time is spent defending a mix of businesses, insurance companies, developers and individuals who have been sued in cases relating to products liability, construction defects, employment, and negligence issues.  David has extensive trial experience from both a Defense and Plaintiffs' perspective, which gives him a distinct advantage in discovery strategy, negotiations and case handling.

David represents several companies routinely sued in the asbestos litigation and is part of a national defense trial team for these clients, which has involved him in numerous trials around the country.  Locally, David's defense practice involves his representation of a number of general contractors, homeowners associations, specialty contractors, material men, developers, subcontractors, and other defendants in Construction Defect cases involving residential homes, townhomes and condos, as well as commercial establishments.  He also does some personal injury defense litigation for a few select insurance companies.
